Joel,
When I saw Joel Holland's entry at the Elk Grove event this last season, I had the amusing thought of his passing through the agriculture check station at the state line between Calif. & Oregon.
The scene that I saw in my mind's eye was of the inspector asking him if he had any fruit to declare (thinking that he might have had a bag of apples or something similar) and his saying "just the one pumpkin" while thumbing toward the trailer in back of his vehicle. I'll bet that was a shock to the inspector as he pulled out passed the inspection booth!

A cartoon of a front of a house, with a giant pumpkin behind the house, higher than the house, somewhat like the sun rising, you could see the giant pumpkin growing if you look at the front of the house.

We are just finishing a major addition to the house. I was joking with the building inspector here about my pumpkin.
He was wanting to know if it meet building code. Should be a toon in there somewhere.
And the Cinderella carriage has got possibilities. "Couldn't lift my pumpkin so I just but a hemi in it and drove it to the weigh off."

That is ridiculous Rich. Draw what you want as long as its not copying him. If my kid wants to draw a pumpkin do I need to ask? How would anything ever get drawn, music maid, movies filmed etc because someone else has already done it?

A cartoon of two scenes:
Scene 1) It´s Halloween, kids (which look like scary Jack-o-Lanterns) are standing in front of a closed door to a frontyard (which is surrounded by a high fence, kids can´t look into the frontyard) and they ring the bell...and we can see that behind the fence some really scary giant pumpkins are the inhabitants of this frontyard.
Scene 2) Pumpkin grower has opened the door, we (and the kids) can see the pumpkin grower and the even bigger scary scary giant pumpkins...and the kids are running away (with empty bags, of course)

Change the name so people arent up tight.....like "Garden tales" and use a format that is your own style. As an arstist i know you need to draw from your own experices. Dont plagiarize, be original and just like pumpkin growing.... have fun!

This is the letter I sent pap it should explain; Hi my name is joel young Im a new grower , I saw the pumpkin toons And I thought they were amazing I wanted to continue the toons but i need your permission the new photos would be almost the same pretty much the exact same. My other hobby is photo editing so I'm not really a artist i can just put and fuse the different photos together so all the credit should go to you because you are the artist.
