One without a payment book.lol I would buy the truck with the longest & best warranty. With all the plastic parts there using you may need it.

I would get the one with the best consumer reports, road and track review.

The Question is sort of open..What do you plan on doing with the truck. That make a huge difference.

We have tried all the major truck brands out there. As of now and for the last 4 years, we run all Fords, from rangers up to F350 diesels. The best bar none is the F150 Eco Boost. Best gas mileage by far and will tow anything you hook up to it.

I hope you all got good warranties with the Ford diesels. I have no brand name preference, but I DO know that those diesels are prone to turbocharger and camshaft follower issues. I work on International diesels for a living.

3/4 ton minimum (f250/2500)

Diesel (7.3 International/Cummins/Duramax) are good strong motors.

I would not trade my 99 F250 7.3 Diesel for anything. 19 city/23 highway with no chip. I always had gas trucks before that and wouldn't go back.

Dodge Cummins... First overhaul on the Diesel is at 200,000 miles... stay with a manual trans...only way to go... Guy across the street is a pure FORD man... got 3 Ford Diesels.... and he begs me to sell him my 2001 Cummins that only has 42,000 miles on it... Ford glow plugs...they are light bulbZ ready to burn out...

I have an 06 f150 and it is the perfect truck. Zero problems, by Ford and definitely not the Tundra unless you're a soccer mom.

I've always partial to a Ford. I finally put my 1980 F100 (yes 100) to rest last year with just under 485000 miles on it, I'd had it since 1993 with only normal maintenance, never had anything it wouldn't do that I needed done. When we get another truck it will most likely be an older F250, if I can find one that someone ain't wore slap out (like I do with a vehicle). Good luck in your quest.

My last 2 F150's had good engines & transmissions, but they rusted out and had lots of other problems. I have 98 Dodge 1500 4x4 now, nice truck but engine doesn't have a lot of guts (its not a hemi) My brother has good results from GMC.

Thanks guys for all the advice. I will use it for mostly getting around town and halling around my tractor and pumpkins(in the fall) on double axle trailer. My old was used for work but not this one.

Nissan Titan with Bully Dog tuner. Run Amsoil...buy what you want. That is all that matters. All the trucks have there own problems. Maintain it and it will do you good. Support the global ecomomy...

Since you say 150 or 1500, your not looking at diesel. I would then go for the Eco Boost Ford. Good milage and enough snot to pull your needs.

I have a 2003 Dodge cummins diesel with 48,000 miles on it. all the power I need when I need it. 21+ mpg highway when I don't. our minivan only gets 24 mpg and can't haul 5 tons on a trailer...

I've got a 1997 Geo Prizm, 1.6 liter, 5speed manual transmission. I'm thinking it will haul the biggest tomato I'll ever grow.
No truck here;( Maybe someday.
