HEARING OF OUR GOOD FRIEND BRUCE HOOKERS DEATH HAS CERTAINLY PUT A DAMPER ON MY HOLIDAY SPIRITS.
NOT ONLY HAD I KNOWN BRUCE FOR MANY YEARS, BUT HE WAS A LOYAL SUPPORTER OF THE OAF "COATS FOR KIDS" SEED PROMO PACKAGE EVERY YEAR SINCE ITS BEGINING. WITHOUT QUESTION HIS WAS THE FIRST SUPPORT RECEIVED YEARLY. SOME YEARS HE ALSO DONATED SEEDS AS WELL AS PURCHASED.
FRIENDS,WE MAKE A LOT OF THEM BOTH COMING AND EXITING THIS GREAT HOBBY OF OURS.I TRUELY CAN SAY I HAVE MET MORE KIND AND GENEROUS PEOPLE THROUGH THIS HOBBY THAN ANY OTHER THING I HAVE DONE IN MY LIFE.
ITS THIS HOBBY ITS NOT ALWAYS ABOUT "WHO GROWS THE BIGGEST"? MORE SO "WHO SHOWS THE BIGGEST"? HEART THAT IS.WE ARE A VERY CARING GROUP OF PEOPLE.
IN THAT CATAGORY, PEOPLE SUCH AS BRUCE HOOKER WERE HEAD OF THE CLASS.HE WILL BE REMEMBERED FONDLY.

It has definitely put a damper on the holiday. Bruce was a great guy. We will truly miss him. We always had a great time with him. May he R.I.P.

I did not know Bruce but he sounds like a great guy and I wish I would have known him by the sound of everyone. So many times in life we get caught up with insignificant tasks and we truly take many things for granted. I'm sure many pumpkin growers are being affected by this sad news.
Living in a way that keeps eternity in perspective affects how you live and always reminds us that we are here for such a short time. The Word says that we are like the grass of the field, here today and then gone tomorrow. A vapor, a mist. Growing monster pumpkins is awesome, we all love it, but in reality it isn't that important. As a believer in Christ, I hope all will recognize the real reason we celebrate Christmas. My sincerest prayers and thoughts to the Hooker family. Jim
