Ok so in Ireland I have to cope with different pests than you guys have to in the US.
So if anyone could tell me what pests affect their plants that would be a great help.
This is for a college project by the way, so ill need to research the pests that you guys have.
Thanks for the help
Micheál

Well lets start in the beginning: Corn Seed Maggots, and Cut worms. Then later comes the Cucumber Beatles, Then comes the Squash Bugs, Followed up by the Squash Vine Borer. Then if you are unlucky you will get aphids.
There are books on Cucurbita pests :)

This is where I feel lucky, as far as imsects go,If I can make it past the cutworms I am home free. Did have aphids once but some neem oil took care of that. Now, furry mammals are a pain but a fence keeps out skunks and rabbits. Mice are a huge problem. I've never seen a rat, pretty sure we've won that war. I'm close to the Saskatchewan border so we are the first line of defense against rats entering Alberta. The municipality gives us all the rat poison we can use.
So far deer haven't developed a taste for them. If they do it's game over for me. We are infested with them.

Great help everyone thanks very much. What I cant get over is that you's are unlucky to get aphids whereas aphids are all over the place where I live probably why I see so many ladybirds here. Micheal
