Dear all, a while ago (in late July this year) MR.T. mentioned a potential record (in context of the use of growth hormones)
http://www.bigpumpkins.com/MsgBoard/ViewThread.asp?b=3&p=481745
where it reads:
"...my client for now wishes to remain anonyms. in part to self righteous beaten complainers. He may allow me to reveal after this year. A week ago he was 301" ott at day 30. but still early in the game."
Well, maybe MR.T. can reveal the identity of this grower after this year, as he had mentioned, but it´s still 2.5 months to go until the end of this year and maybe someone of you guys already knows which pumpkin was the one which had 301" OTT at day 30. Since July I was wondering what kind of awesome record breaker this pumpkin might become.

to be clear: cytokinine ( that's why you use kelp)is the ingredient in kelp that several growers use on their plants and to germ seeds. That's because this hormone is higly active when germing and forming seeds so this is actually nothing new but using it in a concentrated formula might have much greater effect on plants that generally contain alot of seeds. It has been used for decades in fruit farming so no chortcut afterall it has already been proven that it works

for the record it isn't anything like Forchlorfenuron. it's an organic product but more concentrated than the kelp we are using

Google sucks now after their last engine update. Now all I get are health nut jobs trying to sell it as a cancer cure....any way it was one of those things I was going to try one day but I thought I should learn to grow properly first.....

So.Cal, I'm a little slow, so which kin was it that blew from hormones? You'll have to spell it out for me. If there is a dairy picture I'd like to see it just cause. And folks if you want hormones just type in "NAA buy" and Amazon is all over it. Heck you can get 50 gal. drums if you want. Check out your local hydroponics shop. PGRs are all the rage. Medical marijuana grown with known carcinogens- now that's a real paradox. Read the history of Superthirve which almost everyone has seen or used. Most of you have seen it but if you search for "exploding watermelons" it's a good laugh. PGRs aren't new, but how they affect pumpkin growth seems to be the question here. Don, I agree about Google, try using Blekko if you don't want to be tracked for every move you make.

@ Don Crews ...already checked in the 1940´s at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There cytoknins were studied as the very frist groth enhancer from plants for plants. In the 1950 it was shown, that these plantal growth enhancer from coconut does not force cancer but contrary stop most bad cells and helps to fight them. I do not breed AGs, but for my edible pumpkins I have to use the best fertilizers from winegrowing...and coconut powder. I won´t spray canned coconut milk. I use coconut fruit powder in best food quality as a foliar fertilizer. Costs are 9 € for 1 kg. For my 20 liter backpack sprayer I dissolve 50 g coconut fruit powder plus 50 g citric acid powder and 30 g aminos from slaughterhouse waste in water. These aminos work very good as an adhesive agent too.
