My name is Vince Cappitte, from Girard ohio. This is my first time posting on here. Fifth year Giant pumpkin/ Second yr. Tall sunflower/ Fourth yr.Banana tree grower, with interest in carrying on my fathers Giant Italian Lapari peppers In local competition.. I held the 2013 OVGPG pumpkin tour at my house, on the 28th of July. What an honor that was for me, to display my intense interest in sharing what passion my father has, and has taught me to display with others. What an honor, having such Quality growers in my one plant back yard here.. I want to thank Tim Parks for this opportunity along with Allen Gibson Chuck Myers Frank Lantermin and Cecil Weston with balancing my soil for an outstanding year. Also a good friend I developed through our club and that was at my home sharing alot of her knowledge in growing these Gentle Giants., Glenna Rea.

Thankyou, I feel the same here being a part of such a knowledgeable group dedicated and drivin each year to succeed to grow healthy balanced and big. I started growing with my pops in 1994 when the OVGPG started. He brought in I think a 450 pounder and it was completely round I remember with no flat bottom what so ever. We have the first weigh off on vhs and enjoy watching it together often. That pumpkin weighed heavy for him, and I remember all the comments on the no flat bottom. Boy how time has changed these growing techniques, and my father just couldnt keep up with it. I found interest five years ago to give this all a try again in his honor putting our ideas together on one efficient plant rolling the dice, but with nothing less than quality in every move made with this plant. I feel all the effort can be better managed with one plant.
