Some links to the news in Germany. My computer will translate these to english, hope yours does too. Something is fishy with the translation though as it seems I read that the world record is 900 pounds or so, plus some other mistakes I see.

...and some other funny things, like this here:

In the first article they write "...auch den Weltrekordhalter aus Amerika, der 911 Kilo wiegt...", which basically means "...also the world record holder from America, who weighs 911 kg..." Didn´t know that Ron Wallace was the heaviest man on earth.
