Have a sore spot, went to clean it out and a SVB fell out. I don't know if the moth laid an egg on my pumpkin or did the larvae travel through it.. has anyone seen this before? Is my pumpkin doomed any advise would be appreciated.

from what i can see it may be a 1/4" but don't know if it goes deeper... is it possible that it could've laid the egg on the outside of the pumpkin?

Yep,they can crawl too, I've had them in pumpkins. Scrape out soft flesh til you hit solid flesh. Spray with 10% bleach-water. Put sulphur powder on and keep dry with a fan if possible. Pumpkin should be fine would probably heal on its own since you got the SVB out. Sounds like a nice one, good luck.

Spray it with a good fungicide...keep it dry and you will be fine. My 1048 had one in it last year..little sob

I have had that happen several times and each time the pumpkin healed itself. My preferred method of treatment is to carefully stick a needle in the hole and bayonet the little sucker ( very satisfying ), followed by the advice given by Dyberry and Linus
