on my 1770 plant I 'had' a side vine pumpkin growing just for the cross I had made. The vine that it is on got seperated from the plant through an accident and I am wondering what to do with the fruit.

Its 56 days old and measures 230 lbs. I had to reposition the vine (1st secondary) when the fruit set so many of the tap roots were lost and there's very few to support it.

What is the chance that there is some mature seed in there, should I leave it or just cut it open and have a look?

If there's not many tap roots to support it could it just go down hill and rot?

Tap roots on secondary will support growth...but at 56 days your seeds are mature

Thanks Shannon, there are probably 3 or 4 tap roots tops but if they're mature then I'll weigh and cut tomorrow.

Cheers

i have been told that the kin seeds will even mature better if you let the kins sit a few more weeks ,, protected, og coarse before you open it,

had better sit on my hands then and let them reach full maturity. The wilted leaves have shot back up today so I guess there are enough tap roots.

Thanks for your help
