Hi everyone,
I currently have a 5 gal. pail of feed grade liquid molasses and I just came across a gallon of plant grade molasses that costs about $24 ($11 plus $13 shipping) Is the plant grade better than the feed grade or is it just a rip off? I dont mind the extra fee if in turn I can get better results with the plant grade molasses. Also, is it the same deal with dry molasses? I know that they make dry molasses by spraying molasses onto a carrier and I was just wondering if there was a difference between the carrier of the plant and feed molasses. Thank you!

What you want is liquid unsulfured blackstrap molasses. It doesn't need to be food grade for humans. Feed grade molasses works great. And I've never heard of 'plant grade' molasses. It sounds like a marketing ploy to me. There are some products in the hydro industry like that, where they slap a fancy label on molasses and charge 100X what it's worth.

BTW, we sell a 3.5 gal bucket for around $15 in our feed store just to give you a price comparison on cost. Hope that helps!
