unfortunately thats the heartbreak of this hobby. sometimes you do all the right things and she decides to blow.

thats exactly why its so important to be thankful when you do get a monster to hold for the weigh-off. pumpkins were not intended to be that big. we are pushing the boundries of science.

ThankZ All.... The WoodZster 1649 Lancaster was a hell of a ride... dont know if it will get to the weigh off as the hole opened up to 1" across the rib split... Taped 1204 poundZ...up ..averaged 27 pounds per day the last three weekZ alone....190 for the week... and today is to be 95... dang...good weather...for Colorado.. COJOE my hope for you is to smash the record... CuZ Im coming after it in 2014....
I start to pull out the 1623 as my cover crop seed arrived... next year started yesterday....THankZ again.... for the support...

1649 Lancaster......1544 X 1789. 1789 Went 1756 pounds and 17% heavy.....

We are going to try and ride thiZ one out till the end..2 more weeks of 90 degree tempZ....and change.
My goal is 1500 poundZ.... I know the WoodZster can do it... then we are going to dropZ it HARD....lol

The 1725 is the reverse cross with Woody in it.....
and I also have my 1789 with Woody pollen as well.. so we will have come great genetics in our GrowZ'em BIG PROMO pack for 2014

It's gonna be tough to pick a seed next year. When the dust settles, there are going to be some wicked Colorado grown genetics. Scherber, Mohr, Grande, Johnson, to name a few incredible crosses that all may or should have broken the state record. There may be a few out there that I don't know about too. I like that Woody x Harp cross, and the 1421 x snowball, and the 1623 that Joe has, etc.

Can you tell that I am growing mustard and not a pumpkin right now?
