Darren I asked the same thing last year..I was told the kin is growing fast. The Sugar manufacturing inside is more than the tissue can handle so it has to go somewhere and so whalla...seeping occurs along with micro skin split. I have one right now doing the same. The scratches are nothing more than the micro tearing of the skin and scratches healing from rubbing, wiping or simply dragging a blanket on and off of it. Someone else may be able to explain it better, lol. Good Luck!!
