My kins are 6 and 2 dap and bith are curving in the stem toward the vine. My question is can I put something against tem to train them the other way, or will it hurt the skin on these kins. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think you could try and put a stake in the ground on the side u want the kin to go and use a nylon stocking to slowly coax in to the side you want......again...I said try...

youngbuck- I stick a rod firmly in the ground next to it, then take and cut a piece of one those floaty tube things kids use in the pool and put it over the rod, the pumpkin cant push over the rod, and the tube 'rolls' around the rod allowing the pumpkin freedom of movement. I have one out there that is now 36" at 14 DAP.....not saying she isn't a little funky looking, but she is 90 degrees to the main vine and growing like a bandit. Just a thought, has worked for me.

I have my fingers crossed so hard they went numb last week. Lol. I have named it the egg....it looks just like a dinosaur egg, and considering it has done all this growing in heat indexes of 105 degrees with 80% humidity....I'm hopeful
