We have a plot in a community garden. On a lark, I decided as I was buying seeds to plant giant pumpkins. Despite the mistakes I made, I have a pumpkin vine that is recovering, and the fruit is putting on weight again... (it is up maybe 30lbs?).
Apparently it is getting around the gardens that (1) I have one and (2) I have plans for next year. I was a little shocked when people ask to see it, but I think curiosity is starting to get the better of folks... (especially considering a lot of the squash are dying off due to viral infections, etc)...

I also garden at a community garden, yes people are amazed when the pumpkin starts getting huge. I have had people come and have there picture taken with it.
