After culling a pumpkin, there is obviously a little hole left in the stem leading to the vine where the cut is made. Does anyone have any advice on what to do to that hole that remains?
Do you cover it? Does anyone put any sort of insecticide or fungicide in that hole? Any advice is appreciated. I've never been able to find much information on the best approaches to take when culling.

I always just throw a little sulfur on the wound and keep it dry for a day or two until it dries out.

In 12 years, never done anything to it, just cut it off. Should be fine! :)
