my main vine is about about 20ft now i have been picking off pumpkins on the way to were im going to set my first, on my secondary vines, they are now staring to also show pumpkins, my question is do i pick off the pumpkins off the secondarys. thanks

- You pick the pumpkins where you know you don´t want the plant to set a fruit there. - You try to get a couple pollinations set where you could imagine to grow a nice pumpkin (the "perfect" locations and some alternatives, just to have a spare pumpkin in case the favorite aborts) - You continue to pick the females as soon as you don´t need them. Yes, pick the females before they open, you don´t want the plant to waste any energy on the development of little pumpkins and bigger stems which then expose a larger wound when the little pumpkin is cut off. Picking the little females causes less troubles.
