I think the one I am going to keep has a 6 inch vine split at the stem. It fills with fluid sometimes or maybe because I cut another off pumpkin off and it got a surge of energy. Will this eventually dry out on its own or will I have to keep using paper towels to absorb the fluids each day? Thanks

Luke, I had the 1333 Dodge and my 671 J. Young last year do the same thing for the same reason, Packed it with sulfer and for me it healed up in a couple days. Also put a 4" fan on it for a week or two. Good Luck

I realize most people reccomend sulphur and no doubt that is the correct way, but if that has not worked dig down in your soil a few inches get some clean dirt and rub it in the split, should stop bleeding in a few minutes. If it does not, rub with dirt one more time. However if the wound is downhill from a lot of vine if feasible you may need to elevate the wound for a few days. I have never tried to heal a split this way but it does work on severed vines.
