I need some help. My 1544 Revier Has slow or even stopped growing. I can't even tell if then pumpkin has aborted Its not turning white or soft be it hasn't grown in 3 0r 4 days.
Each of the ends look like the main. The leaves are so close together they don't look normal

1775 starr looks normal and the other don't have this problem. Even thou they all got the same amendment and water.

Darren, not good I just pulled Thomas's 1622 Young with the same thing. Do not wait too long to pull it, it may get to other plants.

Darren, do what you want I know what you feel just lost a melon plant today also.Still have 5 plants left so far here. All I know if plant stops growing and pumpkin stops growing not much you can do. I battle this ever year for 10 years and have very little success at winning but once in a while it happens and get something wonderful that keeps me trying. Good Luck!

I pulled all my plants in June and put 50lbs of potatoes in my patch instead, they are doing great , but no giants for me this year. No Pain No gain.

I don't think the pollen will carry it. As far as I know it has to get in when a squash bug feeds on the plants juices. The bacteria goes from the bug into the plant. The stunted growth is a symptom of YVD, I would also be looking for the fruit to abort, yellow leaves in sections of the plant, and heavy wilting in the day. If you start seeing any of these, I think it would be safe to say you have YVD. And you have to yank the plant.
They have a variety of Jack_o lantern called 'Neon' that matures in 68 days. If you get them in right away I bet you would get a crop.

I've only seen 3 or 4 all year and not even 1 cuk beetle. Lowest bug presser Ive ever seen.
