is a fruit like the one below more prone to splitting than one with a smaller blossom, or is that a myth?
I have a similar looking fruit, and wondering if I should cull it in favor of one with a smaller blossom. thanks.

I think I've heard and read more positive things about circled blossom ends than I've heard bad. Here just one of many succesful results of that type of a blossom. Look at entire Diary of this guys Kin and you'll see what I mean. Good Luck http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=45923

I think those circles make for a pretty pumpkin. As far as splitting is concerned, it hasn't made a difference in my experiences with them.
