I have a pumpkin at 14 dap and 77 ott that got attacked by a rodent last night. The pumpkin has 3 very shallow bite marks and there is a fair size wedge missing from the lobes. Will the pumpkin survive? This pumpkin is my only chance of getting a fruit before 20'. Thank you.

id put something around it now to protect it, because it will be back. All you can do is wait it out and keep dry.

clean the wound with a little bleach mixed with water dry the wound and apply a powder fungicide, i had a wood chuck chomp on one of pumpkins last year when it was around 250lbs the pumpkin survived and grew to over 1100 pounds as long as it does not go into the cavity then it has a chance but then again it's early and still time for another one.

Like the Borer said; Last year my buddy had a deer take two bites out of his kin at about 150lb size. The bites were about the size of what it might look like if you were to take an average bite from an apple. I helped him disinfect and we sprinkled on some Bordeaux and sulfur and it seemed to heal over and went on growing.

Take some wind fence around the plant and sprinkle some critter ridder around the patch. I have my dog pee around the perimeter of the patcch also some mothballs around the fruit. Ive also heard of soaking ammonia rags and putting them around. The fact of the mayter is you gotta make it a chore for them to get an easy meal. Heck I say make them work for it and if they do earn it then they won't have fun doing it. Good luck.
