I am pollinating tomorrow and have covered my female and cut all my males and brought them inside. Should I put them in a cup of water and leave them on the counter? Or, put them in the cup of water and in the refrigerator? Does anyone do anything differently?

Put them in water on the window sill to get morning light. Room temp is fine. In the morning, very carefully cut the petals to within 1/2" of the stem to allow for easy dusting.

I refrigerate mine in a baggie and they open up fine in the morning. If they don't, hit them with the hair dryer.

Hey Sparkmat, I did not understand your question. As opposed to letting your blooms open in the field you are bringing them inside. In such a situation I have no experience.

counter ,BEE sure the BEES dont get in them on counter,I have had it happen! In the morning they should be open, if not put them in window with sunlight ! cut away petals & rub it directly on female ,with a very little brush rub (gently) pollen around lobs on female ,,, DO NOT get it wet all day !!!! If hot cover with umbrella !!
