i am down to 2 plants and for god sakes slowly one is ribon vineing on me,,, i was only plan on using it as a pollinator is it safe to do so?

Yes, but might not want to grow the seed from the pumpkin you grow this year.

Cueball; I had a ribbon vine on a female in 2010;I grew a nice pumpkin from it;I was told to get rid of the seeds; I talked to a fellow grower about my ribbon vine and the seeds; He told me, try them out good chance it wont ribbon. He was right!! I have a nice 13 foot plant no ribbon; I even put 2 more on my compost pile to grow, no ribbon? This was my experience; its up to you
