I already cut one, but around 5 or 6 feet out the leaves turned yellow and literally deteriorated like the one on the top left. Anyone have any ideas?

I have not used any sprays except Organocide, kelp, humic and fish. Thanks

Such a bummer Luke :( Hope they make a full recovery!!!!!

I had organocide do that same thing to my cucumber plants a couple years ago after mixing to strong. if that's the case, you should be fine.

Love to hear what others have to say.

Hi Luke-

Here is my list of questions to try and better understand what may be going on…

-When did you last spray the items you listed? (were any tank mixed)
-What dilution rates did you use?
-Are only certain leaves on the plant showing this dying progression?
-Does the problem seem to be spreading?
-Are only the leaves showing signs? (how do the vines, tendrils, and flowers look)

This will at least be start to help guide my diagnosis.

Matt,

I used everything in a small sprayer, so my math could have been off and might have went heavy with the Organocide a couple weeks back went plants were small. My plant is about 18 feet long now terminating at a snapped main.

Only 4 leaves at about 5 feet out were a strange yellow, I left for 4 days and got back and 2 were completely deteriorated\gone and other 2 yellow and drying out. It definitely is not spreading down the main, but maybe back towards the stump as the first few are looking way too old for June.

It might have been burn if Organocide does so when those leaves were young?

Secondaries and tendrils are fine everywhere except at those 4 leaves. Nothing ever grew there except flowers. Secondaries stunted at an inch or so.

One last note is all the first leaves got hailed on too so all have holes in them. Some worse than others.

Thanks

Hi Luke-

After my analysis of your answers my diagnosis is uneven tank mix of Orgnaicide leading to a 'hot spot' of active ingredient being applied ultimately resulting in spray damage in a localized area.

In short, nothing you can do now.

But for next time, be sure to watch the dilution rate and also while applying the product be sure to periodically mix the tank to ensure a consistent dilution rate. Sometimes products can settle and become more concentrated and lead to spot spray damage which is what I think is what happened in your case.

Thanks Matt! I hope you are right and I can just fill in those soon to be bare spots on the main with new growth. The leaves that got the wrath of the hail will have to be replaced soon too.
