I think traps are just for fun, There's just something very satisfying seeing a bunch of dead SVB. I used them but still witness them laying eggs everywhere. This year I'm not using them. I wasn't the traps that saved my plants. It was Merit.

If I am not mistaken the traps only attract the males. They are only there to alert you to when the SVBs are around, and when you need to ramp up your spraying.

I think Chris Delaney trapped a couple of hundred with multiple traps , he also used a vapor tape with the traps. No chance of them getting out, it kills them dead. Terry

Yes they work...vapor tape not necessary but it's cheap and it works. I haven't used lure/vapor tape in mine in two years and still catch a bunch. If I manage to take one down with a fly swatter, it goes into one of four traps that I use, free lure.
Remember, your plant is what attracts them, not the trap. Some growers think they've never had SVB's until they hung a trap. Traps won't catch them all so consider it one of several weapons to use in your war against them.
