I have been doing it for years. Have your males picked the night before and have them in a warm dry spot, so that the pollen granules come off. I have put them under a light bulb for an hour or two and that seems to get the pollen nice and ready.

Just go into work about 5am. cut in a few walls,,,,, about 7am run home,,,, do what you have to do,,,,,,,,,,,,, then run back and start rolling:)

You can have a room or two complete before the boss even shows up!

I am telling you a hair dryer on low...gets the juices flowing...doesn't take much. The flower stays closed until the temperature is just right for the bees. The light will also so the trick

I successfully forced open and pollinated a female at 10:00 pm, just as an experiment...it worked. The flower was ready to open the next morning....so yeah, she has to be ready.

The trick is Fresh Pollen...Pollen Viability decreases rapidily after the 1st four hours...Then after like 10 it is pretty much a crap shoot.

In Michigan the flower opens at about 65 degrees and is fully open by 72 degrees.A hair dryer should work great like Linus said.

I've heard of using 100 watt light bulbs will also help.
