What is the hidden instigator
which pulls a broad fork into your face
Or that pushes a tornado away from your place?
It is hard to deny that senseless brutality
Always has seemed to be this old world's pace
In an instant your dreams and your work are all defaced

Blessed are those who grow and glow in a magic patch
Blessed are those who grow and glow in a magic patch

But surely there is more to plow than that!
Do the Spirit of Wisdom and the Madness of Folly
Have a predetermined egg to hatch?
Thru our minds and across the land
Moving hand in hand
They are coming from
A place we can't get at
Sometimes reaching out to touch one or maybe touching another
Sometimes all seems to be all
indiscriminately

Blessed are those who grow and glow in a magic patch
Blessed are those who grow and glow in a magic patch

Call out to Wisdom and she will draw near
Ignore her and Folly will soon be here
Who can stop a woodchuck?
Or make the sun shine?
Focus in on one thing and it's clear
Something else is coming
To hit you from behind

Blessed are those who grow and glow in a magic patch
Blessed are those who grow and glow in a magic patch

I grew an 841 that had a big chunk chewed out of the pumpkin itself. It didn't get to the cavity and healed over.

I have no problems with wood chucks. I put human hair from the hair salon around the patch 2 or 3 times a year. The deer in my area also stay away. At my parents house the deer think they are pets so they aren't bothered by it but normal deer stay away. It may sound foolish, but I have not had a problem in 15-20 years.

I knew that I could take some ribbing but, using it is better than having holes in your prized fruit

I have a small radio in my garden. It's on a pole and protected from the rain. It plays a hard rock station 24-7. Works great. I have never had problems with critters since using one.So long as you don't have neighbor close by.

Get a live trap bait it with cabbage, close it night less you like hauling opossums around.Classical music keeps the deer away.Unless the deer are lite in the loafers,if so you will get more deer!LOL No sure about woodchuck music.Try Marilyn Manson that should scare anybody in there right mind away!lol

Bry, gimme a call I,ve delt with woodchucks and Ive gotten rid of them within days. It'll be fairly cheap to get them to move on. It just takes a little time.

Thats tough luck when the woodchucks stop by and have meal.
I have 4 hava-heart traps in the back yard all summer. No bait. Just leave them set and ready to close. And I catch about 1 woodchuck every 2-4 weeks.

I'm glad we don't have wood chucks over in our part of the world, would be a real pain.

All these responses and not one answer to the actual question. I don't know, but Stevens grew his 1810 on a hail damaged plant.

If Iowegian knows his 841 was chewed by a chuck I would say he has the record....
