Thought this could be an interesting thread..... What are some of the things you are doing new in the patch this year, something you have never done before. Me:

- watering from a 275 gallon container. This way I can mix my ferts and drench program to the exact gallon

- not cut off so many tendrils as my thinking is that cutting them off may bring on more disease pressure.

- bury everything to promote a more vigorous root structure

since we are not growing this year we are taking advantage of a soil building/disease prevention type multi cover crop program.here is what we are doing ----

1. last fall planted winter rye.
2. this apring early on tilled under rye.
3. planted mustard grass - then mowed /tilled under two weeks ago.
4. after resting soilk for three weeks planting sudan grass and sun hemp.
5. this fall cut and till under the sudan @ sun hemp
6. back again with winter rye.

rti myco and additional growth products will be addeded starting with the sudan/sun hemp application.then again with the winter rye so we build up the soil activity before next spring.

Keep us posted on how you make out with the sun hemp Pap. I read those big buds are loaded with Nitrogen.
