Anyone planting the world record seed. My plant was a bit stunted due to the seasons cool weather now that its warming up the plant seems to be growing quite well.

Well.... it WAS the slowest one here starting off here ...even though its still way behind I will say as a guess it will be way ahead by the end!

all these responces about the plant being slow to start seem to be what Ive had to deal with also. I suspect that early on the plant really starts to work harder on a rooting system and then will kick in really good when it counts.

Mine also is a slow plant but alot of it had to due with my soil warming cable that quit working. But it is one of my thickest plants. But behind the others is the patch.

Another slow start here and the plant thinks it a corkscrew. I have in pinned down but every day it tries to twist and twist and twist. Not a very well behaved plant. But what freak is.

Wallace 2009 is pretty much normal growth so far for the end of May in Maine . One thing I did notice is the side vines are out earlier and more aggressive then the other plants.

wow a lot of reports of slow starters. maybe the plant is an agressive rooter and is slow to vine out. I'm expiriencing the same thing as other growers. I'm comfident that this is the seed this year thats gonna really bing some big heavy pumpkins to the scale.

Actually I just sent this meassage to Ron: I live in a semi-rural area and can only grow 2 plants but give them both the silver platter treatment. I started the 2009, 1443 Ellswroth (1725 Harp x 1810 Stevens), 1818 Bryson &1470 Wallace, last 2 as backups. The 2009 is the fastest growing plant I have and probably the fastest to nearly outgrow the 5x 7 hoop that I've experienced in my growing days. the 2009 was up in 3 days germinated. It has been near 90 in day and 70s at night which is good growing weather. There are male blooms on it (not mature) it's about 5 ft long and secondaries over a foot long. The base and main look like they will be huge. I'll try and keep you up to date on this plant. Again, thank you for the opportunity to grow it.

First female showing @ 10 feet, the plant is only 40 days old. Now the weather is decent she's really going crazy, maybe a little freakish!

My 2009 is growing the best of all my 6 plants...but the 1789 Wallace is also right with it.
