No special kind. Magnesium sulfate/Epsom salts is the same no matter where you purchase it, the cheaper, the better(somebody kick me if I'm wrong).
Read this article to get the maximum benefit from MgSO4.

We have a "bulk foods" store that carries it and you can buy any amount you want.

I got two 20lb bags from amazon with free shipping. Better value than buying a whole bunch of smaller packages at a drug store.

Just make sure there isn't any added colors or scents added in the ingredients.

Obviously you all are adding epsom salts for the magnesium. Have any of you considered a product called ProMag? It's 36% magnesium compared to epsom salts' 9.8% and much more cost effective. It's manufactured in Canada with distributors here in the U.S. My local source is Agrium Advanced Technologies 701 Kaderly Drive Columbus, OH 43228.

Use 10 lbs. per 1000 sq.ft. if your magnesium is low. Don't use more as salt content can get to high etc. My soil studies show to shoot for about 19% base saturation. For foliar use 1 Tablespoon per gal. of water.
