just because of it doubling. I have to cull one spot in my patch. The best plant, checkon 1365 has doubled. This plant has been great right from the start and I had high hopes for it. It got setback a little on transplant with cold weather and hail damage.
Being new to the sport I would like to hear from some of ya'll whether I should just get rid of the double viner or could I still be able to get a 1000lber out of her.

Check out the MV. Choose a second or double that is normal. I saved my 980 Fredricks, cut off the bad double, now the new main is growing 6" day and even already has a pumpkin in the cluster....

Thanks guys. I'll give it some more time. I don't see where right now I could prune it. It is a "combined ?" double vine. The plant is just now running. I'll keep a eye on it and maybe I can learn something!

Double vine, bad vine, split or broken vine, ribbon vine and so forth all can be fixed. That's why all plants grower secondarys and hundreds of pumpkins have been grown on a secondary which was turned into the main...

Yes they can be fixed ,but i dont belive that plant would be as good if you have others that could fill in space & increase there chance to get bigger pumpkin i would remove it , Otherwise leave it & get something ! I got a 700+ off a newly trained secondary
