Can you make the main go the opposite way; if it has a bend
in it going the wrong way?

How long is your main right now? If it´s already down and running in the wrong direction, then you can try (and will most likely have success) growing it in a semi circle until it points in the right direction. With this method you will lose some of the first secondaries, which would point into the circle, but with a plant which is growing fast and which should set a fruit no earlier than 12 ft out on the main vine (maybe between 14 and 17 ft) you should be fine and you will have many secondaries between stump and fruit.
If the main is still very short and just inclined to grow into the wrong direction, you can assist with little stakes to redirect it into the "right" direction...in little steps.

Could you please send me a pic of this main vine (side view...to see how it is bent into the wrong direction, and to see the first couple of true leaves) to my email, which you can find in my diary (or post a picture on BP if possible), I´m seriously interested in what might have caused the main vine to bend into the wrong direction.
Currently I would suspect a very very weak first true leaf and a strong second true leaf, which just ignores the presence of the first, wants to grow upwards and thus pushes the main vine into the direction of the first true leaf.
Thanks heaps in advance,
Jörg
