I'm hearing stories about California growers with huge plants already? Or was it just a dream I had last night.?

You're growing fruit not salad.

Exciting time of year Kenny...gotta grow the salad to produce the fruit. Nice to hear positive comments and excitement from the growers in a new year and those early growers for state fairs and earlier weighoffs are sure fun to see to get the juices flowing for what is around the corner. You are correct in your Pap Wallace saying of old......just wondering if you were helping them keep things in perspective or "just sayin'"

Good luck west coasters!!!!!!!

growing fruit not salad refers to knowing when to terminate secondary vines, all third stage growth, etc,to get the most growth potential for the pumpkin.
getting the plant established early is always a good thing.some of our best years came after great springs and warm temps.etc.
