What are all those white things coming out of your soil in the picture of one of your 2009 plants? Roots?

Chris, don´t change your mind. Snow flakes makes sense, because this white stuff isn´t coming out of the soil, it is on the leaves as well, and the different directions of the white streaks (which have very similar length...also makes sense) are caused by turbulences as the wind hits the cold frame. Don already gave the answer, just for those of you who need the translation of H2O(s), H2O stands for water, and (s) means solid. Thanks to his little heater it will turn into H2O(l) very soon ;-)

Big Orange, snow is the key...have a look at the "Matt D" diary, Matt grew a snowball off the 2009 seed.

Pumpking... No dis-respect but I have no idea what you are talking about. To me, those look like initial roots. Very strong roots from the amazining 2009 Wallace plant/plants. Come on Don.... I need to know????

To me they look like confused, or super vigerous roots that need a little guidence and soil coverage to help them out. Which will aid a beastly, or should I say FREAKY plant, that is about at-least 2 + years ahead of our GPC normal control pattern/estamations/and data/ research in reaching a 2000 lb pumpkin. Or should I say 2009lbs

But Seriously Don. Whats going on in that photo. You can be secretive about certain shizzz like that pink solution you had a chance to use last year, that did absolutly nothing special for you and other growers who used it. What was it PPFM or something like that. But come on, I am others a quite curious. Please help us out!!! With the answer!!!

It is snow,,,,,,,,,,,, but Scott is right,,,,,,,,,, you can see vegemite in the soil,,,,,,,,,, and the feathers are used as a foliar when its cold.

Big Orange, look closely at the wood on the frame at top of screen. Roots don't grow from wood frames. It's the speed of the camera that makes the snow look like long roots.

Nick,
look at the pic real good, the white lines are everywhere and almost identical length -- on the boards, leaves, etc. It was snowing and the picture blurred the moving snow flakes to look like little lines.
