I personally have been delayed on planting sprouts into my patch due to very warm sunny windy low humidity days which are tough on transplants. So I am waiting it out a few days past target transplant day. And I don't want to pot up to a bigger size cuz window was just a few days.
I have been here before and have found if you take a good structured potting soil and moisten it first heavy and mold it like a hershey kiss around the stem to support. If you need to add more cuz another day and a little taller and don't want to come home to folded stalk then spray mist the potting soil and gently compress what you already placed and then add more wet potting soil upward. Gently make the cone taller. This system of coning support works nicely if you need to transport some sprouts to people and bouncing in the vehicle.

Good idea shazzy. I've put a bamboo stick in the pot and put a tie(somewhat loosely)around it and the stem of the plant, for support.

I always plant mine right up to the bottom of the Cots. It won't fold if you do that.
