WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR

For anyone interested in the test mailing of AG seeds I made to growers in Canada from The United States posted on March 28 , the seeds arrived A - OK no problems so it's one way to get around the new higher cost of postage going out of country .

Garden State Pumpkins

cost me 92 cents to mail out my self addressed envelopes , bubble packs. that makes em machine cancellable , but enclosed envelopes had enough postage for return to be hand cancelable....paid for it,,,, guess what...one was ...the other wasn't....And then you wonder what ya paid for.

how do you know?

They need that orange FRAGILE sticker on them.... or they go thru the machine anywiZe.... I lost 3 of 4 980 Fredricks that way because I forgot to put that ORANGE UPS FRAGILE sticker on the SASB.... Making your own helps but they look for the BIG ORANGE ONE... Get them at your PO and put them on....!!! Their machine crushed thoZe seedZ in half and they were shipped bulk in a plastic baggy.... Made me WiZZzy cry when I opened it up..... :(

Hi WiZ , preTTy sure as long as seeds are wrapped in BuBBle plastic the seeds will be protected Even being processed through the machine . No Fragile stickers were applied on my test mailing to Canada .
It's always good to see how other growers proceed with mailings.

I been kicking around an idea. Maybe someone can help perfect the idea. The best cost would be ship with average mail with one stamp. But it would have to be 1/4 inch thick. I've sent a lot of mail that was thicker, with no problem.

The idea: Seed protecter ring. like http://www.ebay.com/itm/Slip-Joint-Reducing-Washer-1-3-4-OD-x-1-1-4-ID-x-1-4-/360620064628?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53f6a17f74

The Problem: cost. Maybe if we cut pvc pipe to 1/4 rings put the seed in the ring if placed flat in the envelope, I bet you could drive a car over it.

Idea 2: Instead of mailing 2 envelopes. One plain sender over a bubble return. Just send the bubble with postage (sender). Then ship an return address sticker & postage inside, Put on the sender bubble tape shut for the return. Plus seed saver rings. Because I bet it will still will go thru the crusher as long as it fits.
