Another year, another mistake. I used some garden soil in my germinating pot and as I was checking the seedling, I noticed a white little maggot on one of them. Will a dose of Merit watered in eliminate any in my 1 gallon pots, or is there something else I should do. I need to act tonight. Thanks!

After closer inspection, My Rosa seed was completely destroyed at the tap root. The Merit stll hadn't taken affect and they ate on it all night. The 1684 must not have had any larva in the soil I grabbed from the garden since it sems ok.
Lesson to new growers, make sure your planting\germinating medium is sterile.

Thanks Master P! I think the 1684 is good, and I have a couple Young seeds as a backup for the downed 921 Rosa. If those fail, I'll shoot you an email.
I also went and got new sterile soil and scrapped the old containing the bit of garden soil.

Don't forget the part about how I killed both plants off in May when they were over 5 feet long, and had to start all over with a seedling overnighted to me from Ohio.

My grandmother always baked her soil when she was starting seeds or trans planting small flower to a bigger pot. She also had beautiful Violet and other flowers
