I got my hands on some systemic insecticide. Safari 20 SG Group 4A Insecticide. What can you tell me about this?

It kills bees and don't eat anything it comes in contact with.

Dinotefuran is normally used in Greenhouse and Nurseries Applications. The instructions state it can only be used once a season on Cucurbits and that is also for enclosed structures. I see no use for this insecticide on a plant growing outside.

I dont know about you guys but everytime I see a post about someone asking about pesticides or fungicides , when I open the post, I almost expect to see ' Tremors' Steve Jepsen great advice to growers on the subject, I sure do miss him on Bp.com

Back to Safari. If you a want a systemic that does the job and trust me it does, then use it. For you bleeding heart types who would never ever kill a fly stick to organics and take your chances.

Scott have you read the instruction sheet for this insecticide? I am far from an organic grower when it comes to giants..but I do not believe this insecticide should be used for pumpkins outdoors.

I'm not much of an organic fanatic either but I don't use anything that is recommended for plants that don't have blossoms. Bees are attracted to blossoms/flowers.
If they visit plants treated with this they are probably as good as dead.
Bees play a big part in pollination of thousands of plants and trees.

Safari is not deadly to bees. only biting-chewing insects that eat vegetation. Does not even have strong control of worms in blooms. I used it according to label, but I think you could follow directions for flowers since im not eating this thing.
