As some of you are aware, I've been collecting circumference and OTT data on pumpkins for nearly a decade, the results of this effort published as the Ailts/Landry benchmarks.
Once again, I am looking to add data to strengthen the statistical significance of the 10-day incremental benchmarks.
Experience has shown that my pleas for data via the BP general forum result in two or three generous growers passing along information. Appreciated, but I'd like more. Since stats rely on numbers, I clearly need to up the ante a bit to entice you to consider taking the time to share your data. Here goes-
I need data and Im willing to offer an incentive. Provide benchmark data on your past fruit and I will provide a free soil test interpretation via phone or email. (im not an agronomist, but i want to be. and am presently enrolled in a program to become an agronomist.)
Here's what Im after: Day 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 circumference & OTT numbers for fruit in the following weight ranges:
1000-1099lbs 1400-1499lbs 1500-1599lbs
Partial data is acceptable. My offer only applies to pumpkins with final weights in the weight ranges above. No "DMG" fruit please, only official pumpkins.
Submission couldn't be easier- I've created an online form for ease of data entry:
http://www.stcroixgrowers.org/Ailts-Landry-Benchmark-Submission-Form.html
Include your email address in the submission form (there's a box for comments) and i will contact you to initiate the soil test interpretation.
Thanks for contributing.
