cost's of each seed lot we request from growers, and cost of mailing to the buyer. (our local prices)
bubble to mail to grower, to return to us $ .67
envelope to mail bubble to grower .25
postage to mail to grower 2.07
bubble to mail to buyer .67
postage to buyer 2.07
total $ 5.73

if shipped out of usa, postage is $6.55, less the 2.07 local, than add, additional for out side of usa 4.48
total $10.21

this i do not know as a fact, but i’m told that the average cost of paypal is about $5.00. per lot !!!! plus exchange costs, etc..

it would appear that all countries have the same problem.

i believe that once every one has reveiwed the numbers, changed them around a little, the right decisions well be made.

Didn't you miss the $2.07 for the grower to return the bubble to you?

so I guess auctions should say plus shipping and handling. everything else we buy online does.

with donated seeds minus shipping it's 100% profit, not too shabby. I donated seeds to your auction, yet less than half were offered at the auction. I guess it saved you some shipping!! P.S. I sent my seeds out of pocket, no bubble was mailed to me, another $3.00 savings!!

I figure it costs about $5 per lot for fees (hosting and paypal), Postage (to and from growers and to bidders) and bubbles. We had 60 lots in 2 auctions and it cost us just under $300. We started our auctions at $10 with $5 increments. That keeps it simple for everyone.
In my opinion, PayPal is worth it. About half of bidders use Paypal and it costs 74 cents for $15 payment and $3.93 for a $125 payment. No waiting for checks to arrive and clear. Again it just makes things simpler.

first let me thank you again for the seeds you donated for our auction. if you had requested a prepaid bubble or the cost of it, you would have been mailed to you.
my personal check is on it's way, to cover your costs.

I don't want $$$$ just saying if you're selling seeds that were free no matter what the postage it's still 100% profit. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just making a point. If I won every weigh off I went to I'd still lose $, this is a hobby for me I truely don't care about the prize money,my little girl likes the ribbons.

all of the seeds you sent us were all sold, please review lot 3 of our live auction, and lot 6 of our silent auction,1/2 of the seeds you sent were sold on each auction.
the point of my posting was that we all should give some thought to what opening bids should start it.
