Hello I was wondering if anyone had any experince with these products. Which of the two would you recommend? OR both?

I was thinking of using it in the planting pot, in the planting spot in the patch and potentially at each leaf node. Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

I use promix with the myco, and my seeds / seedlings do just fine. I can't say for sure about benefits, as this is all I have ever used. Kind of expensive to be putting in your patch.

If you have really bad soil(hard ground that does not stay loose)you might use this in a small area.I use a similar product last year, but I found it for $1 a bag if you wait till June Home Depot sells it dirt cheap.lol I would only use this to enhance your soils texture. The amount of mycorrhizae is most likely not a huge amount. You would most likely be better off adding your mycorr at the right time, from a container.Mycoor is best applied to the roots, right now.

I use the one with myco for a starter mix, but mainly because that's what I want for my other veggies as a base. The PGX has the same bacteria species as Companion, so you can just get Companion to add to the myco stuff if you want both. Or, the other way around if you're getting mycorrhizae anyway.

I'm not sure about using it out in the patch - it isn't going to hurt, but it will dry out in the soil faster than regular soil.

Thank you,

Can you mix the companion stuff with myco?

I was going to use it mainy as a seed starter and mix the rest of the bag into a 5ft by 5ft area. I was also thinking of mixing a bit with compost to bury the vines.

How does that sound? I was only going to buy 2 bags maximum.

Petra, I've tilled in several large bales of Premier ProMix into my patch over the years to add organic matter and raise the CEC.

Yes, you can also mix it 50/50 with compost or other soil from the patch for buying and topping vines.

I don't know where you buy your Promix but I get mine at Rona. They are always stored outside and allowed to freeze and almost always past their expiry date. Don't expect any microbes to be left..... Add some mico.
