Dear all,
Currently AGGC and Pumpkinlink are not up to date or unavailable, respectively. Some of you may have noticed that I started analyzing correlations between patch size and pumpkin weight of some frequently planted seeds:

http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryView.asp?season=2013&grower=58180&action=L

Now I would be happy to extend this study to some of the more recent seeds, e.g. the 1725 Harp. What I need to know now is:
The pumpkin you grew off that seed (e.g., 1324 PumpkingrowernameXYZ 2011) and the approximate size of that plant (e.g., 650 sqft).
In addition to pumpkins from the official GPC list I also appreciate contributions with official weights from non-GPC weigh-offs, contributions of DMG and/or UOW pumpkins (whereas “EST only pumpkins” aren´t helpful).
Also, if you grew an in your opinion too small pumpkin (despite the great potential of the seed and the great potential observed with your plant), and you can trace the poor growth back to particular circumstances such as for example “800 lbs on day 45, then blossom end split” or “950 lbs on day 55, then loss of 70% of the plant due to foaming stump”, I would appreciate that kind of additional info as well.
You can either post your results right here or send me an email with the data (email addy can be found in my diary…the orange envelope on top of every diary entry).
Thanks heaps in advance,
Jörg

So. Maine

1056 Berard 2010 ( 1725 Harp X 1622 Young ) 600 sq ft. Long story short , this 1056 pumpkin grew on a tiny side vine .

Decided to go with the side vine earlier pollination because the Main vine did not provide fruit until 22 feet out and was a bit late in the season to keep that fruit so we decided to grow out the side vine fruit.

I feel a main vine set 10 to 15 feet on this plant would of produced a much much larger pumpkin .
