Randy's daughter Mindy gave Randy a beautiful service and proper burial. Randy was a great guy and he will be missed. Randy would have been proud of you Mindy the way that you handled and took control. I wish we had met you under better circumstances. You are a great person just like your dad. May he rest in peace. We will be in touch with you. If anyone has any of Randy's seeds that you are not going to grow Mindy is going to keep his legacy going and she is going to grow giant pumpkins, you can contact Tom or I to get these seeds to her.

This is something I wrote to Mindy on Facebook.Very well said Mindy, You are so right by the statement , you did give me life and you are still my father. I am so proud of you for that. I am very, very proud of you for everything that your doing. It does show also that when it comes to others, you have a very giving heart like your father did to so many Atlantic Giant Pumpkin Grower friends and there was many.In the short time I have gotten to know Mindy, she is one special person. Last week I dug up every picture I think that was ever taken of Randy at weigh-off's. I lost count off all the ones I sent her. There was 39 or 40. It's nice that she is going to get them all printed and make a album of her Dad. They always say, God does make special Angels

Mindy, I agree with my wife, Randy would be proud of you, you stepped up and did the right thing in such a hard time, you are strong like your dad.
We met under very sad circumstances, but that doesn't mean that we can't continue to keep in contact and celebrate Randy's life and memory.
Randy mentored me, and it would be an honor to mentor or help you in any way we can to grow a giant pumpkin and honor your father.
You are family to us now, don't be a stranger!

Tom, I definitely will not be a stranger. I would be more than happy to have you mentor me as I learn how to grow giant pumpkins. Who knows maybe it will come naturally to me after all I do look just like my dad well without the facial hair, so maybe I'll have the "magic touch" like he did when it comes to growing pumpkins. I also do believe in angels and I whole heartedly believe that my dad is now my guardian angel and will help me with everything I do in life from now on in which I am very thankful for. I'm also very thankful that his close friends are taking me under their wings and helping me. I do have an extended family now and I will be forever thankful for each and every one of you.

I have found (3) 1248 Sundstrom seeds that someone sent me at the beginning of last season. I sure it would be fine with them that these were passed on to Mindy. I would be honored to be able to grow one of these seeds in Randys Memory if that would be OK and send the other two onto Cindy. If she would want All 3 seeds I fully understand. Drop me an email Cindy or someone and we'll get these to you/her in time for this season if she would like.

Thank you all so much for the support of me carrying on my father's legacy and thanks so much for his pumpkin seeds it really does mean a lot to me. This is going to be my very first year growing but I know I have a few people that are going to mentor and help me along the way. Even if I don't grow a huge one this year my boyfriend and I will still be at the weigh-offs to meet everyone and see what it's like. Again thank all of you for everything!

I'll be looking forward to meeting you in person Mindy. It's really nice to see your going to try growing some pumpkins. It's very easy to get hooked. Best of all, it's a great hobby.
