Hey All, I am posting the following Question Seriously. If you had givin seeds to me this time last year would you find it insulting if I were in a situation where I needed to list those same seeds for sale at this time. For weeks now my daughter Paytyn has had complications and I found out last friday she has had a ventricular aneurysm. Very Rare with kids. Long storie short, what Insurance I have is somewhat OK but just to make sure all is covered I am having a sale here at the house this coming weekend and so I want to know what this community who has been so good to my daughter and I here thinks of me selling what seeds I have to help cover for trips to Peoria and expenses related to her hospital visits in the future. I know this sounds pathetic but the moms and dads on hear have to understand that a parent will do what needs to be done no matter how emmbarrasing, lol. Thanks for your input and I don't mean to compete against any clubs trying to raise funds for their weighoffs. My daughter and I still plan on growing for weight this season but not for farmers markets. It's tuff to stray too far from this crazy habit, lol. Like always I seem to write novels on here. I do have a list wrote up if I see it's going to be ok, I just don't know how to go about doing it (one whole lot or seperate) so if someone wants to email me for pointers I sure would be thankful. If you need to talk on the phone I'll forward my #. Thanks alot BP for just allowing me to ask this on here, at least I think I'm allowed to do this. She's a tuff little girl abit scared but is doing pretty good, its her dad who needs convincing it will be OK, lol. Thanks all for any feedback. Joseph

2:45 am here in the midwest, doin the usual tossin and turnin. got up and checked emails and wow..I know this sorta thing is Taboo but man oh man, All I can say is that sadly there are some very dark souls out there. Peace, Wayne thanks for the kind words and Humble Opinion with reference to Ken. City Farmer, there are two growers ahead of you via direct email so I'm watching the times to know who was first second and so on. City Farmer I will email the list of 28 seeds remaining so if you wish to make an offer on any of them you may, thats what I did with the first two growers. You can tell I don't know what the hell I'm doin here but in the beginning I had one of you contact me and suggest sending an updated list to growers who were interested so thats how I'm going to do it. First come first serve according to time of submissions and I'll repost here as to the depleation of the list. Thank you all!! Brotherdave and others who have recently sent me melon seeds and other seeds..they are goin in the ground be sure of that. I haven't been doing all this test growing for nothing, lol. My daughter enjoys sitting right along side me in this hobby so much..In no way am I going to take that away from either one of us especialy her. By the way if any of you "Dark Souls" show up at my barn sale this weekend the 5 speed rear tine ROTO-HOE Tiller is not for sale but to all others almost any offer will put it on yer trailer. I'm not lookin for charity here just more in the arsenal for the gas tank on these up and coming drives to appointments. Should have bought a Kia two years ago instead of a Hemi Huh?

When it comes to your daughter who cares what other growers think. If you have my seeds, sell them. If you need my seeds let me know your address and i will send them to ya and then you can sell them. Best of luck - Jim gerhardt.

Yes Luke n Jim You bet I will..goes with out saying to just do what you need to for you and yours, just will always feel indebted to those like you all who have helped us with seeds in the past. Luke I'm gunna try to produce an orange 525 est Orange monster again this yr, more knowledge should = Bigger. I've also seen in the past some heck being raised where someone begged for seeds and then turned right around and sold them. Definetly not the case here, I promise you. If I end up selling my Yanmar 240D loader you see in my diaries I'll post it for sale in the proper equipment board here for you all first before selling it local. Thanks to all of you for the kind words and well wishes for Paytyn.

Joseph- my condolences to you and your daughter for the incredibly tough situation, best of luck and our thoughts and prayers are with you! As a single father of 3 I very much understand how you feel and I too would do anything to help my kids be healthy happy and safe.
That said, I would first offer any seeds given to me by fellow growers back to them before attempting to sell them. Any seeds purchased at auction or from clubs you should do as you please. Believe me, there's been times I've needed money BAD, my youngest was born 2 months premature at 2.5 lbs and suffered months of complications and huge bills accumulated. My feeling on selling seeds given to you by generous growers to GROW, not sell, is taking advantage of that generosity. And in turn generous growers will start to think twice about giving out seeds that may end up as someone else's monetary gain.
My recommendation would be to contact growers for a seed donation for your cause if that's the fundraiser that you think would serve you best. Sell that machinery, trade your hemi for a hybrid, sell some pumpkins you grow at the end of the season. No disrespect meant whatsoever Joe, I just feel it is wrong to make money selling someone else's seeds without their blessing. Like I said, there's been many a time I've needed money to help my children as well and i bet I'm not the only one here on BP! Best wishes Joseph.

Hey John and Auston Thanks to you Both. John I plan on growing that 1308 Barenie again this year in a different location so my daughter and I hope to see ya again in Sept. Auston I think your probably right about contacting the people direct and not in one public sleep deprived nonthinking sweep like this..thats probably why I've gotten so much backlash directly from folks and its most likely deserving up to a point on my part. Didn't mean to leave them out and Like I said thats kinda where I was coming from in getting opinions in hoping maybe some of the folks like alot of them here who have givin me seeds in the past have told me on this post "no problem" but I think I've just added guilt to an already guilt riddin complex. I'll say it clearly..I'm not now, or would I ever be on hear lookin for charity. With everything thats been happening and trying to figure it all out I believe I've probably overstepped by bounds on their generosity so I myself will put an end to this right hear and now and Auston truely man No disrespect towards you either..you can keep your Hybrid, lol and Thanks for speakin it straight. It'll all work out. Monetary gain.....for me...I'm gunna have to chew on that one for a bit...can't swallow it with this huge lump in my throat I've had the last couple weeks, but I'll get it down.it's called being determined, lol. Take care all, Thank You for your Blessings and Prayers... I Honestly didn't mean to offend.

For goodness sake Joseph, dont even ask, if the people that sent you seeds cant uderstand the reason that you are trying to sell their seeds, then their seeds are not worth growing. To most of the people into growing, and on this sight, it is more than a hobby, it is a community of friends, and friends are always willing to help each other out, so sell away and take care of yourself and payton. Best Wishes.....Ken Williamson

Thanks ALL!! Theres a lesson here for everyone. Please check your kids health. Not Saying Your Not Doing So Already. It's the horse blinders and the not seeing the forest for the trees thing..Its just I see this precious kid 24/7 and them bam!! one day I notice up high on her chest a lump, a small rise on the center to right side of her chest. I knew right away it was enough to get checked out. I felt so guilty that I didn't notice it sooner. Shes way past the age to where dad gives her baths so that I guess is why I didn't notice it and probably felt it was part of her maturing. I thought about this all night and want to tell you all if you have boys or girls check your kids just to make sure they are fine, again not telling you how to raise your kids, "we get enough of that", lol. I'm starting by hugging her more often..didn't think that was possible, lol. You all are too kind. Its OK there are Nay Sayers it gives them time to reflect on there words even if they don't agree or have kids to realize we parents embrase humility in almost every interaction with our kids and even at times.."Fellow Growers". Words really don't say enough to you all. Thanks again, Joseph BTW Sunny and in the upper 40's here in west central Illinois today!!!

Joseph,
I will send a prayer to St Jude Thaddeus. He's the
patron Saint of impossible causes. Here's a little
story that may help you. My son Eric was born on October
28th, the feast of St Jude. At the age of 5 1/2 years old
he was diagnosed with Rhabdomyolysissarcoma(cancer). I prayed to St. Jude alot. Now he is 29 years old and teaches German at a high school in Brockway, Pennsylvania.
Say a prayer to St. Jude and never give up hope. God bless
your daughter.
