...depends on your definition of "orange". Shiny orange with some additional patterns allowed, it would probably be the 1811 Graham 12. Also, it depends on your definition of "big", if weight or size counts. If the latter, then it might be the 1679.9 Tanner 12 (which had an OTT of 453 inch, but went slightly too light...-15%)

Biggest orange or biggest and with a nice shape? Donkins and Bryson's wr were both orange. There has been a many 1500-1700 orange. As far as nicest big orange that ive seen, gotta be the 1610. Nicest over 1000 gotta be Vincent's 1059.

By far the biggest and nicest shape.Have a talk to Ben Hebb and John Mackinnon. You had to see this pumpkin up close to appreciate it;s beauty.I believe John called it absolutely gorgeous as he approached it inside the greenhouse:)

For overall size and Orange color, Carl's 1811 does it for me. For all time best lookers over 1000, these three are right up there.

Thanks Scott, went through some pics and this is where it all began. Bob Ford and Howard in the 70's followed by the 2006 HD winner posed with the man himself. Getting a little nostalgic, sniff, ;0).

BTW, this is the 1679.9 Tanner. I hadn´t found a pic of it on bigpumpkins, hence I thought the link to this pic might be interesting for the one or the other.

the 1679.9 Tanner would be too flat in my book. the 1811 too mottled. the 1159 Richards is awesome and was big in its time. I think 1610 Lieber has to be the top of the Big Orange category. none of the bigger ones are oranger and none of the prettier ones are bigger.

...no matter what shape, no matter how beautiful, no matter how heavy...only size matters. Would be great if jack-o-rama could confirm this definition now...it might have saved alot of discussion.
