I am growing my first ever Butternut pumpkin. It has been gowing for 2 or 3 months now, is about 30 foot long and looks great, except. Of about 20 flowers with a Pumpkin under, the pumkin gets to about an inch or so in dia, the flower falls off and the baby Pumpkin goes rotten and falls of. What is wrong? there is only one plant.

More plant demands more water may be part of your problem, plant robbing the kin of moisture, not being pollinated well enough and possibly lack of calcium. Just my thoughts. I hear you all are getting some heat down there so plenty of water and cover the blossums after you pollinate.. make sure you have good pollin coverage on female and try to keep the flower cool during pollination. good luck
