Hi all, here is what i've gotten so far this year

Rootshield, soil heating cables, calcarb, winter rye, soluble kelp, soluble humic, pumpkin pro, 0-0-50, liquid gypsum, ( these are all from extreme, thanks Tom!) Kelp meal, humic, fish meal, and spring wake up. These are all from Joel Holland. Thanks Joe!

I think I'm pretty stocked up for now, I also have neptunes harvest and gypsum, though if there is anything I'm forgetting please let me know. Thanks!

Ok, thanks so cal, also by products I mean things like micorhiza, stuff that can be added and has little or no affects on fertility. Also includes tools and ferts used during growing year.

ashton
dont know if anyone mentioned it before but id like to suggest you ask ( here on bp ) --- try and find a good grower in your area that would be willing to offer advise along with some face to face counseling during your first year.

I think it's better to under-do than over-do when just starting and getting the hang of all the ferts etc..

Ashton, has anyone mentioned you getting a soil test done first? Its a must starting point...asap..planting time will be here before you know it then you'll know what basic amendments need done to your soil (if any) and what should be applied now. You don't want to have too much of one thing and not enough of the other. Good Luck and Grow a Biggin !!!

Ashton, you seem to be off to a good start on your supplies.

It may be a good idea to hold off on a your next purchases until you have a chance to read up a little more so you can maximize your resources.

One great tool on this site is the site search. You can learn a lot about different products and how to use them with that feature.

You can learn a lot with the site search by typing in the word Tremor. Scroll down to the bottom and start reading the older posts first.

Unless you're committed to a 100% organic program you'll benefit greatly from a systemic insecticide for squash vine borers combined with a good contact spray and a fungicide.

Search these terms: Imidacloprid, Bifenthrin and chlorothalonil.

Proper use of these basic products can help quite a bit in keeping pests and disease at bay.

Your enthusiasm and energy are the two most important things you can have. Translate them into daily plant monitoring, vine pruning & burying and you'll be on your way.

Thanks all for the help. I looked up tremor and all that came up was one diary. Am I doing something wrong?

pumpkinstoo?

don't worry so much about the diary listings Ashton, go all the way to the bottom of the list of 300 items that come up and start reading.

That was the screen name for a well respected member of the BP community who was the go to source for all pesticide & fungicide questions because of his years of experience in that industry and his willingness to answer any and all questions.

His replies to other growers questions on these message boards are a great tutorial on the products he taught us all so much about.

Too bad that by adding his screen name to this thread I more than likely pushed one of his old posts off the search. I've often thought of trying to copy and paste his suggestions into another file so I'll still have access to them when none of them come up on search anymore.
