does anyone know if you can use it as a ca fertilizer on your plant leafs or as a soil fertilizer during the season or just in the the winter as a soil amendment?

I think it is a soil conditioner. I wouldn't consider it a fertilizer although it will benefit your plant. But I don't know too much.

I had a similar question last year since I use it too. I went straigh to the source and your answer is no according to this link. It contains lots of calcium, so I thought that would be a fert supplement?

I had a tissue test done during the summer and it showed my plant was low in Calcium uptake. Tom recommended using the Liquid Gypsum (sprayed on the soil) to correct the deficiency.
