I didn't hear any chatter about this seed and I'm still not hearing it. This seed seems to have flown under the radar or perhaps I missed the discussion regarding it? What is it about this seed that caused several heavy hitters to use it as a pollinator?

Last year it grew three over 1500 lbs.
This year Pete and Cindi grew a 1602 with it. I guess mostly west coast growers have been planting it.

we had the 1409 miller in the wallace patch. it grew very well, beautiful flawless shape, good medium color and good early growth numbers.

because of soil issues we pulled all the plant up to the pumpkin when she taped around 300 pounds.
from that point, for the hell of it, we continued to grow the main after the fruit ,and several sides growing opposite side of the stem.

at that point we had less than 50 sq ft of plant. ( a 6ft piece of main on the left side of stem and another two sides about 6ft each on right side of stem )

she continued to grow plant and pumpkin up to over 1,000 plus pounds before calling it a day.(as the plant grew the daily pumpkin weights went up a bit as well )

a great story in itself. shows you what can happen when you stick with it all season through.

Pap, that´s an awesome story how your 1409 Miller pumpkin survived all those troubles, could have had the potential to make it among the top 10 of the 2012 GPC list. Which pollen went onto the 1409 Miller female?
Cheers,
Jörg
