In the garden a pumpkin grows in the night. "What are YOU looking at?" he says to the moon. "A big orange blob if I might. Tell Peter PumpkinEater to get a backhoe not a spoon!"
"What's it to you, you tiny orb! What's it to you , you silver speck1 "Speck! I'm bigger than mountains, canyons, oceans and a Swedish fjord! And I really bend space/time with my gravity - you mere fleck!"
"Well you could have fooled me--Sorr-ee! Hey roll by the fair in Topsfield town. If you're talking GINORMOUS then we'll see Who tips the scales at a ton--vines down!"
The moon and the plant tossed barbs that hit home. "I'm the most HUMUNGOUS of them all!" It's relative -you can go with real or poem Come to Topsfield Fair and make your own call.
