With all the hype about 2k this year and how big the pumpkins have gotten through the years, brought the question up in my mind "Have there ever been any fruit over 450 OTT before?". Largest I saw on AGGC was 1794 Pugh 448 OTT.
The weight of these is most important but the sheer size is crazy. How much longer till 500 OTT?

Theres been plenty hypes before, and most of them have gotten brutaly beat down by the scale.
Untill the scale says it is so, it only is a measurement and and estimate.
And next to that, theres a new chart on wich 447 is enough for 1900 while on the 2008 version 250 barely gets you over. AND when you look at the gpc standings so far theres a definite trend of light or on the chart pumpkins. I predict some light and to the chart pumpkins, although i hope for the growers that they go way heavy!
Plus the fact that theres only one pumpkin that measured 1800 lbs and acutually made it, so theres no saying what these monsterfruit are gonna do.

The Cooks have said what i always wondered. How can a pumpkin be light or heavy to chart when it was never grown before or extemely few times.

Thats what I think is very cool about this..you never know what seed is holding that Huge Genetic Line inside of it unless you take a chance and try to grow it....Very Cool and Exciting to me.

They are talking weight. If you grow the only 1900 pumpkin ,how can it really be determined to be light or heavy to chart. There needs to be more grown to find the right OTT.

I'm not sure of how the OTT chart was made but I'm thinking that mathematics have something to do with it and on that note....... I'm lost

Spud, you're right theres no data to show how many inches a 1900/2000 is.The chart is a mathematical/statistical prediction.I think its predicting a little on the heavy side for the 440+ fruit.Well know more in a few weeks.

Keep in mine the 1807 would be 3.5% light on the new chart.

I believe the chart is a bit on the heavy side for anything over 425...or maybe even 420.
